Helen is probably best known for hosting the longest running Oktoberfest celebration in the United States, but there are lots of things to do in Helen all year round! • Trout Tournament Fish the famous Chattahoochee River in Helen, Georgia for your chance to catch tagged fish worth up to $1000!

• Bingo at the Festhalle Tuesday & Friday nights. Gates open 6pm, game starts 7pm. $12/person cash and prizes. Snacks & bar open.

• Bavarian Fest A live Oompa band and dancing combine to create a festive Bavarian atmosphere.

• Helen Oktoberfest Thursday – Sunday in Sept and nightly in October. The event kicks off with an Oktoberfest Parade and the tapping of the first keg of Oktoberfest will follow at the Fussen Biergarten at the Helen Festhalle.

• Lighting of the Village Lighting of the Christmas tree and lights in the Marktplatz (downtown Helen)

• Helen Christmas Markets  a traditional German event that offers everything from unique gifts and decorations to an assortment of savory and sweet foods, drinks and candied treats. Located in the Marktplatz (downtown Helen)

• New Year's Eve Celebration ring in the New Year at the Festhalle with the 10th Annual Dropping of the Edelweiss! Live music, Dancing, Party Favors, Heavy Hors D’oeuvres, Champagne Toast at Midnight, Beer & Wine Available for Purchase

• Fasching (Mardis Gras) celebrate German Mardis Gras with music, dancing and fun. Costumes welcome but not required.
